Florida 2013

Last summer I had one of the best experiences of my life. I spent a hole month living with an american family in Florida.
On July 2nd, I took my luggage, kissed my family and started my new adventure. It was the first time that I was going to spend such a long time living appart from my family. I didn't know anybody from the group of Spanish people that was coming with me to the USA except Elena, who was staying in the same house as me, so we spent the first hours of our travel together.
When we arrived, we had already been talking with almost the 21 people of the group.
My american mum was Terri and my sisters, Katie and Sydney. We also had five big dogs, four puppies, four cats, rabbits, birds and in the barn,  we had horses.
From Monday to Thursday, we went to school for a couple of hours and after that, we had an activity (going to the beach, shopping, playing minigolf...). Every Friday, we went to a theme park (Disneyland, Bush Gardens, Universal Studios and Adventure Island). I specially enjoyed Bush Gardens because there were a lot of roller coasters, which I loved, and Universal Studios, because the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter",  was amazing.
I loved to spend time with the Spanish people, because they were like my family.
We had a lot of experiences there that I will never forget. We had a car accident, a Tornado warning, my birthday...
I never felt bored there, because I was always with people.
Even though I would have learned more English if I hadn't been with Elena in the same house, I think it was worthwhile because I had a lot of fun with her and she helped me when I was homesick.
On July 31st, we left Florida. On our way to the airport, I felt like crying, because I realised that maybe, that was the last time that I was going to see those three girls. I was sure that I was going to miss them. But while we were waiting to board, we kept taking pictures, making jokes and having fun, so by the time that we had to say goodbye, I wasn't feeling sad.
However, it was an emotional farewell.
During the travel by plane, I tried to sleep, but it was a big deal, because I didn't have enough space for me and I was too excited to meet my family.
When I arrived to the airport, I had two surprises. Marina had come to pick me up and my grandmother was staying at home one more day.
We took some pictures of the group just before everybody went home, and Elena's family and mine went to have some snacks while we told them our experience.
When I arrived home, I really felt how much I was missing my american life. I was missing my american family, the group, the animals and Elena. In fact, I miss them too much.
